Spring 2024 Orientation and Registration Information (Classes begin January 22)

You're officially #TheNextFalcon! Your first step towards a successful college experience is registering for classes and beginning to build your UWRF community at New Student Orientation. Get started with three easy steps!

  1. Click on the button below to sign up for First Year and Transfer Spring 2024 Orientation and Registration.
  2. Indicate if you'd prefer to meet with an adviser virtually and sign up for classes prior to Christmas break OR wait until January 19 and complete registration at your in-person Orientation. Classes begin Monday, Jan. 22.
  3. Every new student will attend in-person Orientation on Friday, Jan. 19. You'll meet other new students, learn about campus resources and get all the necessary information to have a successful transition to campus.

First Year Orientation: January 19, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Transfer Orientation: January 19, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Prior to registering for classes, math and English placement information is required. Our Placement Coordinator will review your transcripts and notify you if one or both online placement tests are needed. You'll receive the link to sign up for the test(s) at that time. The tests are free and take approximately 90 minutes each. It typically takes a week for scores to get to UWRF after your test is complete so be sure to plan ahead so we have your scores in time and can get you into appropriate classes at registration.

You may bring up to two guests for the Family/Supporter sessions that happen at the same time as Orientation on January 19. We'll send confirmation information to the guests you indicate on your sign up form.

If you are 25 years or older or have at least 60 college credits completed, you can opt for our Express Registration/Orientation.

  1. Click on the link below to sign up for Orientation and Registration. Indicate if you’d like to attend the Orientation sessions on January 19 or not.
  2. Then indicate if you’d prefer to meet virtually with an adviser and sign up for classes prior to Christmas break OR wait until January 19 and complete registration in person. Classes start Monday, Jan. 22.

If you’re planning to start classes during J-Term you should register for classes virtually and still attend the in-person First Year or Transfer Orientation on January 19. Sign up for Registration and Orientation at the link below.  Be sure to indicate you want to register virtually prior to Orientation so we can get an early appointment for you with an adviser.

International students are required to attend in-person International Student Orientation January 18-19. Information and schedules will be provided by International Student Services (ISS) prior to your arrival day. Make sure to review #YourFalconNextSteps checklist at uwrf.edu/admissions/orientation-checklist for additional steps to prepare for your Orientation experience.

Questions? Email iss@uwrf.edu or ISS Manager Vanessa Luther at vanessa.luther@uwrf.edu.

If you are taking courses exclusively online, you do not have to attend in-person Orientation. Instead, email orientation@uwrf.edu to receive an invitation to the First Year Experience modules and provide all dates and times you are available for virtual course registration with an adviser. We'll be in touch to confirm the day and time of your virtual registration appointment.

If you're a high school student and have been accepted into the Early College Credit Program (ECCP), ECCP Coordinator Katrina Rosik will contact you to communicate next steps and help prepare you for registration.  ECCP students do not need to complete the online Orientation or attend in-person Orientation.

If you are a student in the following special populations, you are not required to participate in Orientation in order to register for classes.

Re-Entry Students: If you've stepped away from college and are now returning to UWRF, please contact your academic adviser directly to register for classes.

Dual Academic Credit (DACP) Students: If you're an admitted DACP student earning UWRF credit at your high school, you should begin to discuss DACP credit options with your teachers and/or guidance counselor during the spring 2023 term. You'll work directly with your high school to register for classes.

Non-Degree Seeking Students: If you're taking classes without being admitted to a degree or certificate program, you're encouraged to contact the course instructor to register.
